A private psychiatric practice where you are seen as a whole person - not a 15- minute appointment. Serving children, adolescents and adults across metro Detroit and now North Carolina.

Psychiatry rooted in collaborative, compassionate care for children, adolescents, adults and families.

We offer in person and virtual appointments in Michigan, and now virtual appointments in North Carolina!

Psychiatry you can trust by name.

My name is Dr. Saba Maroof and I want to welcome you to my practice!

After 15 years of practice in the Metro Detroit area, the creation of this new space was ignited by a desire to return to the kind of medicine I always wanted to practice - psychiatric care that allows me the time to really know my patients as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms or diagnoses.

We aim to provide compassionate, accessible psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults in a warm and supportive environment. Each patient is treated with respect, empathy, and individualized attention. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes or life’s many challenges, we are here to guide you towards healing.

Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis or seeking a fresh perspective on long-standing challenges, we’re here to help.

Meet Dr. Maroof

As a dual board-certified psychiatrist, I believe that excellent care starts with thoughtful listening. Before anything else, I want to understand who you are - your history, your background, your goals, your strengths and challenges you face.

I specialize in conditions that are often misunderstood or underdiagnosed -including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, with a specific focus on women’s mental health, college mental health and care in people of color, immigrants and children of immigrants, particularly those from a Arabic, South Asian, and Muslim backgrounds.

My practice is private pay, which means more flexibility, more continuity, and care that isn’t dictated by someone outside the room.

In our work together, I hope to address nutrition, physical activity, spirituality, cultural and social contexts and support, and your dreams - because all of these dimensions make up who you are.

  • We take the time to understand your history, current symptoms, and goals before making any treatment recommendations. Diagnoses may take time and over the course of several visits.

  • Decisions about therapy and medication are made together. Treatment is grounded in current research yet tailored to your needs- not rushed or standardized.

  • Ongoing, attentive care. Medication management + therapy / support, these appointments focus on clarity, adjustments and ensuring steady progress. Care is consistent and responsive as your needs evolve. Regular appointments ensure steady progress and we hope, long term gains.

  • Virtual appointments in NC; Virtual and in person appointments in Michigan, just let me know your preference! I may require some in person visits especially if medications are involved!

What Care Looks Like

Common Questions

  • I love seeing patients of all ages and stages of life! I enjoy working with students, young adults, and professionals especially women in medicine and other STEM fields. I also enjoy working with children of immigrants. I truly enjoy working with children and their families especially navigating ADHD and anxiety. I work best with insight oriented adults and motivated families.

  • I offer both virtual and in person appointments (in Troy, MI)! While virtual appointments are convenient and allow increased access to care, in person visits may be medically necessary and allow for building rapport!

  • My interest and passion lies in addressing you as a whole person. Appointments rarely address medication alone and I infuse therapeutic modalities in all my sessions. I work closely with outside therapists as well.

  • Initial evaluations are comprehensive and can take about 90 mins. Follow-up appointments are regularly scheduled to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. Allow up to 45 mins for follow ups.

  • I work out of network. A super bill can be provided upon request. Your insurance may include out of network benefits, making care more accessible than you think! A Good Faith Estimate can be provided.
